An ill-judged pr campaign by Evans, and some high profile people against him.

I'm with you Phil
I don't think any of them should be paid to play football. Unless an appeal is successful of course - then I hope every celeb and mp who has jumped in the bandwagon grovels for an apology

He's served his time and should get on with his life (If it had been my daughter I wouldn't feel like this obviously) However if I saw Rolf Harris back on the TV I would not be happy. I suppose that If you're in the public eye you pay the price.

Lee Hughes and Luke McCormick should actually still be in prison in my opinion, they killed people ffs!
If Ched Evans wins his appeal, then I hope all these people who are vilifying him will apologise.

I blame Sheffield Utd for naming a stand after Jessica Ennis. It would have been a 5 day wonder but for that and he would be playing for them. The other two murderers were a story for a similar period and then everyone got bored and moved on to wondering who should be kicked off a reality show or some other banality.

Anyone convicted of a crime, who has done their time, should be allowed to go and find work when the law says that the time has come.
However, I there will never be a 'clean slate', and an employer is perfectly entitled to hold their previous conviction against them when deciding who to employ.
It really is that simple. Of course he should be allowed to seek work as a footballer. But then boards and fans are the ones who should ultimately have the say.
In the case of Ched Evans, if I was a chairman, I wouldn't employ him. And as a fan, I wouldn't want him playing for my club. But I respect that other owners and fans may see that differently.
As for Luke McCormick, as awful as his crime was, he has shown great remorse and a desire to use the rest of his life for good. Again, it's up to the owners and fans to have their say, but I had no issue when he signed for my local side, Truro City, and the fact that he is again a football leage goalkeeper to me shows that other managers, chairmen and fans have been impressed by the way he has gone about resuming his career.

Not served his time, out on licence.
Would so many be semi-supporting the cunt, if he'd fucked your daughter?
Check out the wrong 'uns previous with women, would be my call.
Seen more sympathy for the convicted rapist than the girl raped. Who's had to move three times after being hounded by Evans supporters.
Unbelievable.
I hope the spoilt flash sex offender cunt has his nose pushed to the back of his head at some stage.
Sorry to sit on the fence and all that ...
Happy New Year.

Why would anyone apologise for referring to a convicted sex offender as a convicted sex offender when that is what he currently is. If he were found innocent after his new appeal then people would be fighting to sign him, it doesn't make them hypocrites, it just means that at present the law still sees him as guilty.
And to answer the original post, Lee Hughes and the other bloke both showed remorse publicly and said what they did was wrong. Evans continues to protest his innocence. This either means he really is not guilty or he's just a complete cunt. Either way, he is a convicted rapist who continues to say he's done nothing wrong. The other two blokes killed people although not intentionally and accepted their guilt I.e. They made terrible mistakes and tried to show they'd learnt something. This bloke at present is guilty of intentionally raping someone and doesn't express any remorse at all and indeed his supporters have hounded the victim. That's the reason why it's being treated differently.

If Evans believes he is innocent can you blame him?
The fact is, the other two killed, served their time and are back playing.

He could be professing his innocence because he is actually innocent?
I have no opinion on whether he is or isn't, but if he did t do it are you suggesting he should show contrition or remorse just because he was 'wrongly' found guilty of an offence?
Whether he is guilty or not I don't understand the people who think he should never play again. He did his time, his punishment was prison not unemployment
